Streetwear Brand

Streetwear is a distinctive style which was born out of the New York City hip hop culture of the late 1970s and early 1980s, with elements of the Los Angeles surf culture. Throughout the years, many streetwear brands have popped up because streetwear is thought of as a movement of the people. It’s a way for people to express themselves, create their own style and stand apart from the mainstream.

What makes a streetwear brand or streetwear clothing? Generally put, they contain the following key characteristics:

1. Comfort. Remember, this was a style started by surfers and skateboarders. Comfort in clothing is paramount.

2. Scarcity. Limited run prints are the definition of scarcity and today's streetwear brands keep that ideal up.

3. Contemporary art. Something unique, some relevant, something memorable.
